The Conversation Between Soul
I always believe in the idea of fall in love at first sight. It is my longing and the ideal form of love. However, I can not describe or even imagine how can people fall in love at first sight, because this kind of feeling is never familiar to me. Fortunately, though the story performed by Romeo and Juliet, I start to notice that fall in love at first sight is an combination of miracle, coincidence and fate; both of them should have the same interests and understand each other. Also, they should have a fine-looking which is the basic condition for fall in love at first sight(Is that why I don’t get the chance? :(.) Therefore, I like the act 2 scene 2 in the book best, because it shows me why that Romeo and Juliet fall in love at first sight with each other.
The fate guide the way for Romeo and Juliet to meet with each other. It is such a miracle that Romeo and Juliet meet each other in the back yard. What a coincidence that they tell their love out without talking to each other! It is a conversation between their soul. Theses miracles and coincidences make Juliet brave enough to speak out her feelings, and let Romeo know and face the love from Juliet. There is a quote from the book “For what which thou hast heard me speak tonight. Fain would I dwell on form; fain, fain deny what I have spoke. But farewell compliment(Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare Loc 2270).” We can see that Juliet is not ready to tell Romeo her love that soon. She is shy; she needs to follow the rules for a gentlewoman; Romeo is her family enemy’s children. Nonetheless, the power of fate lead Romeo to Juliet and add a “catalyst” between their loves. Which also attract my eyes and perform the magic of fall in love at first sight is the conversation between Romeo and Juliet. Romeo goes back to the garden of Capulet tries to find Juliet. He sees Juliet on the balcony and describes her as: “But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun...Cast it off. It is my lady. O, it is my love(Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare Loc 2147).” Because of not knowing what Juliet’s feeling towards him and the afraid of arouses other people’s attention, Romeo speaks to himself in his heart. However, Juliet is coming to the balcony where nobody’s there to speak out her thoughts: “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet(Romeo and Juliet Shakespeare Loc 2189).” She speaks out her love with questioning and confusing, but what firm is her love towards Romeo. She struggles between her family and the man she loves. Without speaking with each other, two lovers display their loves to each other.
This whole scene is such a miracle, and that’s why I like this scene better than any other scene in act two. It shows me that the bond and understanding between two lovers who have only meet each other for the first time. I think there’s nothing more appropriate for the sentence fall in love at first sight to describe the love between Romeo and Juliet and that’s also what I always trying to find out!
In class writing
Start from line 36, Juliet talk about that she doesn't want Romeo be called Romeo, because that's her family enemy's name. She want Remeo to deny his father's order and refuse to the name Romeo. However, if Romeo tells her that he loves her, she will get rid of her family and stay with Romeo. She also said that Romeo doesn't have to be a montague, because this name is not as important as people's hand, foot or face. She want someone else to has the name other than Romeo and give Romeo another name.

The Start of a Tragedy
I do not read tragedy very often; I used to read an article said that If you add up your happiness of your life, it may equal to the sadness you have in your life. Therefore, I try as hard as I can to avoid getting sorrowful feelings, such as keep away from a book which will make me cry. However, People around me always talk about how good the story is: “It is the best romantic story Leo!” “ You called yourself as a poet, so why don’t you look at the book Romeo and Juliet? It will give you sundry of inspirations!” The more they mention about how great the book is, the more I want to read the book; their words transform to a little cat hiding in my heart, scratching and scratching. Finally, one day, the curious of the book triumph over the pain of the reading a tragedy. Sitting besides my shabby table, I open the first page of the book.
As I read, I find out several interesting details about the book: It is truly poetic, the language is really hard for me to understand. Fortunately, I start to find out the pleasure of reading the book. The first scene begin with a comedy, which the servant of Montague had a fight with the servant of Capulet. Their master arrive after, Benvolio who comes from Montague tries to stop the fight, but he failed because of the aggressive Capulet’s master Tybalt. Then all the people on the street get into the fight. It is such a chaos on the street, Luckily, the prince come who is powerful enough to stop the fight between these two family shortly. In scene 2, Benvolio try to console his cousin Romeo who fall in love with a women called Rosime who vow that she will never married. At the time two brothers are talking about love and women, a servant come and ask their help to read the names on the invitation to the Capulet party. Romeo and Benvolio decide to go to the party to see how beautiful the woman Romeo loved is. In Scene 3, It is the conversation between Lady Capulet, nurse of Juliet and Juliet. They talk about how smart and cute Juliet is when she was a child, and they talk about finding a marriage for Julie, because she is nearly 14t. They give Juliet some suggestions. However, Juliet decide to pick by herself.
At last before I stop writing, I want to analysis about two of the main characters: Romeo and Juliet. First, about Romeo, I think he is a very poetic people; he speak the words about sun, night, fire, flower... And all these subject he used serve for one main purpose which is Love. For example, “Love is a smoke made with the fume of sights; Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ tears”(Romeo and Juliet P1070). I think poet are always emotional, that can explain why Romeo immerse so deep and easy to the love with a woman who he has just meet for a few times. He is naive and fall in love at first sight. Juliet, so far I know about her is that she is a strong-minded person who also believe fall in love at first sight. For example, “I’ll look to like, if looking liking move. But no more deep will I endart mine eye Than your consent gives strength to make it fly”(Romeo and Juliet P1499). She really want to get marry and she is also brave enough to make her decision against her mother’s suggestion. I am really looking forward to what interesting story may occur when these two young man meet each other! Let’s wait and see!

Short essay
Play vision vs. Novel vision Direct by Leo Chen
A little mistake made by myself because of the misunderstanding of my summer reading, which caused a tragedy of reading the wrong book. After I realized this careless mistake I soon read over the play vision of the Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night Time which was much shorter than the novel vision. However, this unfortunately experience gave me a good chance of understanding the differences between play and novel. If you genuinely want me to make a choice between reading and a play or a novel now, I will probably choose novel. I prefer to read the novel than the play is because novel is easier for me to understand and contains much more attractive details.
First, The form of the play vision is totally different with the novel vision. It is the main reason why the novel vision is more acceptable to me. Endless dialogues with several description on characters’ movements formed the play vision of the book. There is no warning or reminder but a gasp before scenes change. Besides these, all of the details about the plot and the characters are depend on your own imagination; this is such a plain for me, because I always read for relaxing, which means I don’t want to activate my brain at all!
Here is an example from the play which give me tons of trouble: “Christopher: I can’t be on my own with you because you are a stranger. Mrs Alexander: I’m not a stranger Christopher, I’m a friend. Ed: And what have you been up to young man?”(P30 The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night Time play vision by Simon Stephens) From this quote from the play, we can see that there isn’t any connection between different scene. It jump from the conversation between Christopher with Mrs Alexander to the scene which Christopher talk with his father. Also, the play vision cut off sentences from the novel, such as “And she said, “You won’t tell your father about this conversation, will you?” (P133The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night Time play vision by Mark Haddon) This sentence appear twice in the novel, in order to show that Mrs Alexander truly want to keep their conversation as a secret and don’t want Christopher to upset his father. And as well, play changes name around to “mess up” people like me who have read the novel vision: Father is called Ed, Mr Shears is called Rogers, and Mother is called Judy. As you can see, from my grumbling words about the play vision, It really confused me than the novel.
Second, the specific details in the novel make the story more enjoyable to read about. I especially like the part when father told he killed the dog, how Christopher figure out to get out of the house with waking up his father. It doesn’t even mention in the play vision about how Christopher think and prepare to leave the house. Although, the play vision is much more condense than the novel vision, it lose sundry of fun from the lost of descriptions and thoughts from different characters. Imagination can not help everything, because we can not read the writer’s mind. Therefore, misunderstand may occur if I have never read the novel before.
To sum up, If I am going to read a play, but not watching it, I will rather choose to read the novel vision. It is easier for me to understand, and it is more interesting to me than the play vision. A sumptuous supper is always better than a simple breakfast, isn’t it. Imagination won’t help a lot at that time.

Blog post 2#
The discovery of relationship between “them”
There are two kinds of people in the world; one prefer to read the story by themselves and leave space for their imagination; another one prefer to know the story by both visual and hearing, but less their own imagination are needed. To me, I kind of like both. It is usually painful for me to make choices, so I usually do both instead of stuck in a galling situation. Because of the habits of reading and watching the novel and the play for one story, I find out there are sundry of similarities and differences between literature and performance.
Literature which is “any creative and published writings in a particular style that has a recognized artistic value”(phenomenal-elements.com). Performance which is “ the act of presenting a play or a piece of music or other entertainment”(phenomenal-elements.com). As we all know that novel and play are both conclude in literature. Also the performance or the play usually comes for the literature or the novel. Therefore, for the similarities: they both share a story line, they have a conflict in the story, they are used to express emotions and feelings from the writer...and so on. I find out the performance and literature share a lot of identical congruent. Actually, performance is a another form of literature.
However, there are also many differences between literature and performance, too. Even the navel and the play have a big difference. Play is a more condense vision of a play. It requires your brain become more creative and imaginative in order to read a play. As my own experience on reading both the play and novel vision of “The Curious Incident Of A Dog In The Night Time” which is a mistake on understanding the summer reading assignment, I find out that it is hard for people who read novel all the time to read a play. First, there are less detail in the play, which means most of the time you need to imagine what are the characters doing or how does their face look like in a scene. Nonetheless, the novel usually write them out for you. Second, the are many sentences in italic which is called director’s quote. They are used to describe the settings of the scene or sometimes the exact motion of the main characters. Third, a play may changed or cut the story compare to a novel in order to achieve some stage effects. For example, the man in health center who asked Christoper if he is ok or not changed to a woman. Also Christoper’s mother is called Judy in the play instead of mother in the novel. These happened with literature and performance, too. Performance shows all the details to the audience and leave them less space to imagine compare to reading a novel which everyone has their own idea about it, and it will be different if you read it again ten years later,
To sum up, literature and performance, play and novel can stand out of one another, because they have the same consanguinity. However, at the main time there have so many differences that give audience two totally diverse experiment of telling a story. It is fun to see how different and similar they are and I suggest if people have time, they should really try both way of getting a story!

Literature/performance
In my opinion, this quote makes sense to me, because a script is the concentration of the information you want to show which is mostly the dialogue, words. However, when you perform the play which turn out to be a production, it contains not only dialogue, but also emotion, body language, acting, light, different kind of voice, settings, costume, which is a lot more than the script. I think that the progress of turning a monotonous script to a complex and vivid play is really interesting to me. Performing and learning about how to read a play and act it out plays a important role in our class. To me it will be sundry of fun!

Who am I?
We humans are unique. People have diverse identity under different situation. For example, It will be quite different when I act as a brother of my little sister compare to the situation when I act as a son of my parents. Obviously, the me as a brother will be much more responsible than the me as a son, because as a brother, a elder, I need to take care of my little sister; as a son, all I need to do is enjoy the concern and love from my parents. Therefore, I will introduce myself in different perspective, in order to reveal who am I.
While I am alone, I always consider myself as a poet. I write poems for views I see and mostly about my emotions. How I feel when a rain drops on my nose? The more sentimental and more imaginary part of my brain will work harder and faster. At that time, I will be driven by my instinct feelings; sundry of unreasoning things may happen during this period of time: jumping into the lake with clothes on to chase the track of a golden fish, sleeping on the top of the hills to see the first wisp of sunshine. To me, being a poet is a way to release myself from the stress and tiring world. Keep on the rails all the time is never the best choice for me. I am a really changeable person, so being monotonous sounds like torture to me. As a result, when I am a poet, I follow by my heart; there is never a rule for me and I am driven by my feelings and emotion but not logical.
Opposite to the poet side of me is when I act as a student. I do things more logically than normal and follow the rules. At that time, my passion will mostly reflect on answering or asking questions from teacher, and pay 100 percent attention in class. Talkative and energetic cells take control of my brain; I become much more outgoing than me as a poet who only talk to myself and nature. I also like to stay with a bunch of people when I am a student, because to me, it feels much more comfortable to walk to class with friends than walking alone; we joke around and talk about funny staff happened before. As you can see, the me as a student is outgoing and vital and have fun with staying with other people rather than walking alone. I enjoy playing sports with my friends and follow tons of “useless” school rules. This is also a part of me!
To sum up, I see things and react differently in different situation and characters. However, no matter how diverse these personalities are, there are all true about me. I am logical as a student, I am emotional as a poet, I take responsible as a brother, I do nothing as a son, I am lazy when I am at dorm. If you what to know who am I, don’t stay on your first impression. As the time we get along, you will discover more and more fun parts of me.
